Chasteberry is approved by the ECIR (Equine Cushings and Insulin Resistance Group) when used in conjunction with Pergolide for the treatment of PPID (Equine Cushings)Â “While Vitex agnus-castus often provides symptomatic relief particularly with regard to lethargy and coat abnormality, it does not reliably control hormonal output and therefore cannot be recommended as a sole treatment. ”
