Copper supplementation is often needed due to high iron in the diet tying up the availability of copper. Copper is responsible for enzymes involved in both synthesizing and maintaining connective tissue, as well as melanin production, for pigment in skin and hair. It is important that copper and zinc ratios are balanced to each other, and to iron and/ or manganese, whichever is higher. We follow Dr. Kellon’s recommendations of 4: 1: 3: 4 to 10: 1: 3: 3 (iron to copper to zinc to manganese) ratios. Bioplex Copper 10% – 100mg/g (to get 100mg of Copper you need to feed 1 g of the powdered mineral).
